Dear Sorors, Amicae, and Guests:
It is my honor and privilege to welcome you to the 2027 Maryland State Leadership Conference, convening February 18 – 21, 2027, at The Hotel in College Park, Maryland.
Over 400 Zetas and Amicae will gather for a weekend of purpose, connection, and forward movement under our guiding theme, “The Power of S.H.E.: Momentum in Motion”
Complementing this theme is our conference call to action: “Carry the Legacy. Build the Momentum. Shape the Future.” Together, these words challenge us not only to celebrate our achievements, but to actively shape the next chapter of our organization’s legacy.
Carry the Legacy honors the women whose courage, service, and unwavering commitment built the foundation we stand on today. Their work is our inheritance, and their example continues to guide our steps.
Build the Momentum speaks to the intentional, collaborative leadership we embody, rooted in service. We create momentum through action, sustain it through discipline, and strengthen it through sisterhood. Every initiative, partnership, and act of servant leadership moves our State forward.
Shape the Future celebrates the innovative and transformative vision we are crafting together. It reminds us that our influence extends beyond today, empowering emerging leaders and ensuring our work continues to shine, progress, and uplift communities across Maryland.
As we embrace The Extraordinary Power of S.H.E., we will advance Social, Health, and Economic Justice for women across Maryland and around the world. This year’s theme invites us to reflect on our legacy and leadership, and to elevate our statewide commitment to domestic violence awareness, prevention, and survivor support. This work honors our legacy and our future by recognizing the women who fought for safety and dignity while empowering those who continue to seek healing, protection, and justice. Addressing domestic violence is central to advancing Social, Health, and Economic Justice, and together we will strengthen our impact across Maryland’s communities.
Our venue, The Hotel at the University of Maryland, provides a modern, elegant setting in the heart of College Park. As the only AAA Four Diamond-rated accommodation in the area, it offers spacious contemporary rooms, multiple dining options, and convenient access to shopping, entertainment, and Metro transit. It is the perfect backdrop for a weekend of learning, connection, and momentum.
In the coming weeks, workshops will be introduced to provide opportunities for learning, engagement, and development. Be on the lookout for upcoming announcements with workshop topics, dates, and other details.
On behalf of the State of Maryland Executive Boards—both Zeta and Amicae; State of Maryland Amicae President Diane Sharp; the MDSLC Host Chapter, Tau Delta Zeta; Chapter President, Sabrena Ball; Marshals, Ayanna Castro and Jacquel McDonald; and the entire MDSLC Planning Committee, I look forward to welcoming you to the 2027 Maryland State Leadership Conference.
