ZNEF: Embracing One of Our Principles

Established in 1973, the National Educational Foundation (NEF) was created by its primary donor, Maryland’s own Soror Issie Shelton Jenkins, Esq., to serve as the scholarship arm of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. This evolution solidified its commitment to providing financial aid to needy students pursuing higher education.

Currently, under the leadership of Dr. Valerie Hollingsworth Baker, Executive Board Chair and the 25th International Centennial President, she is the driving force to increasing the foundation’s footprint in providing scholarships and promoting the mission of ZNEF.

During this informative workshop, Dr. Hollingsworth Baker will educate the sisterhood on what ZNEF is all about, what it has to offer, and how it works hand in hand with Zeta to bring Scholarship to the next level.

2:00 p.m. – 2:50 p.m.

Embracing Your Extraordinary Journey

You have a greater purpose. You are a changemaker and the world is ready for your vision, strength, and leadership. Experts say that leaders are primarily “made” through experience and learning, and essentially, anyone can become a leader with intention and support. This empowering workshop encourages participants with the tools and resources to step up with confidence and articulate a vision for the future that inspires others and contributes to your personal growth.

We are excited to feature leaders from all walks of life, including an undergraduate, an Amica, and members who have served on all levels of the sorority. Facilitated by Soror Cheryl Brown, State Chapter Management & Development Coordinator and ZOL Consultant, participants will hear their extraordinary journeys, stories of perseverance, and reflection. Zeta is a verb and she requires action! Our collective strength can create a space for you to explore authentic leadership.

During this session, we will also discuss best practices for mental and holistic wellness, personal accountability, and affirm the importance of self-care, sisterhood, and support!
